Dermody resemble and why? What's Greg "The Hammer" Valentine's take on the Democratic Primaries? Where's Kevin Marshall's stimulation? Do we really have loyal listeners? Fri, 21 March 2008 Michael Ryan, known in some circles as Llakor, is a man of many interests. In addition to being one of the folks behind the Young Cuts film festival in Montreal, he's also a long-time fan of comics who owned his own shop for five years. These days, in addition to the film festival, Ryan works for the International Wrestling Syndicate out of Montreal as a ring announcer, on-air personality, and writer...among other things. For almost two hours, Mike talks (a lot..wink) about film, comics and wrestling. He provides advice for young filmmakers, takes me to task for not knowing Princess Projectra (seriously), seeks solace for the guilt Canadians feel over Obama's loss in Ohio (seriously), and also touches upon his time in IWS with some absolutely wonderful stories - particularly the one involving Sid and a little person. For those worried, the wrestling talk focuses more on the business end of things and what a company in the industry seeks to do to put people in the seats rather than just geeking out over the world of fake fighting. Sun, 9 March 2008 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT It has been brought to my attention that Living Under Marshall Law w/ BPD and Living Under Marshall Law presents 4 Color Commentary have developed two completely different audiences. AS A RESULT, the shows will from here on in be treated as two completely separate entities, which also includes two separate RSS feeds. "LIVING UNDER MARSHALL LAW" will feature primarily myself and BPD doing a comedy show where we discuss life, politics, pop culture, and a wide variety of other subjects. For listeners of this show, nothing changes as the RSS feed will remain the same. RSS Feed: http://kevinmarshall.libsyn.com/rss/ NOTE - This show is FINALLY available under a correct listing in the iTunes Music Store by searching for "Living Under Marshall Law" or "Kevin Marshall". "4 COLOR COMMENTARY" is now it's own separate entity, wherein each week Steve and I discuss the comics we've read. In addition, we'll discuss other aspects of comics in media, such as on television and film. As a result, if you subscribe to the show using a podcatcher or some other means of subscribing, you'll need to update the RSS feed. The New RSS Feed: http://www.kevinmarshallonline.com/4cc/4ccRSS.xml In addition, by Monday or Tuesday "4 Color Commentary" will have its own separate listing in the iTunes music store. Simply search for "4 Color Commentary" and it'll come up. Note - it's been approved, it's just a matter of iTunes updating their podcast directory. If you still can't find it as of this writing, give it a couple days. Both RSS feeds will be available on KevinMarshallOnline.com shortly. Please feel free to send me any and all feedback by e-mailing deputymarshall at gmail dot com. Be on the lookout tomorrow for a new "4 Color Commentary" which will be available on the new RSS feed. Thu, 6 March 2008 "EVERYBODY SHOULD SEE THE WILD BUNCH" It's our best episode yet, seriously. Today we discuss the Democratic Primaries, "answering the phone", Brett Favre's retirement, Oprah's gullibility, tragic news on Jeff Conaway, more guests announced for the Chiller Theatre Convention in May, legitimate sad news about Patrick Swayze, BPD's Very Special Message for the Ladies, and much much more. WRESTLING (a little after the 46 minute mark to the 1 hour 17 minute mark): the debut of the new wrestling bump for the podcast (which must be heard to be believed), WWE's contribution to keeping the Feminist Movement alive, the awful build to Wrestlemania thus far, finding out whose corn flakes CM Punk pissed in, and more. Mon, 3 March 2008 It's a big week for our pull lists, so we get right down to the nitty-gritty in this NO FOREPLAY edition of 4 Color Commentary! Reviewed this week: the insane (and we don't mean "good" insane) All-Star Batman & Robin #9, Action Comics #602, Countdown #9, Legion of Super-Heroes #39, Justice Society #13, Young Avengers Presents Hulkling, Thunderbolts: International Incident #1, Daredevil #105, Marvel Zombies #5, Thor #7, Captain America #35, Kick-Ass #1, and Damage Control #2 (of 3). Wed, 27 February 2008 (2/27/08) It's time for Pop Culture with BPD: guaranteed to be easier on your ears than the forced "soul" of Michael MacDonald's voice. This week we discuss Brian's new co-worker, Starbucks shuts its doors....for three hours, the Oscars, Celebrity Rehab and the subsequent Deathwatch, the lineup for the greatest convention I've ever heard of, the Presidential elections & Obama & me screwing up horribly. Between the 57 minute mark and the 1 hour 33 minute mark (for those who want to skip it), we talk about wrestling including (but not limited to) JBL, Creative's ineptitude, controversy at Ring of Honor, and more. Yes folks, it's an hour and 45 minutes of fun and merriment, ONLY here at KevinMarshallOnline.com. Comments[0] |
Mon, 25 February 2008 (2/25/08) In our second edition of 4 Color Commentary, Steve and I discuss a pull list which for me at least was a lot longer than I expected. We cover the latest issues of Death of the New Gods, Countdown, Hulk, Justice League America, Mighty Avengers, Ultimate Human, The Incredible Hercules, The Flash, Wolverine: Origins, the atrocious Tiny Titans, and the final issue of Cable and Deadpool. Plus the beauty of dot matrix, the evil powers of Disco Balls, our picks for Book of the Week, our suggestions for Best Books You're Not Reading, our latest suggestions for Wolverine limited series/one-shots (can we beat the record set last week?), and much more. It's 90 minutes of disdain for the Big Two, despite the fact that we both exclusively read them and won't give indys a shot. Well, Steve will so long as it's a licensed title, but that's becuase he's a Skrull. As an added bonus, Steve croons to close out the podcast. Take a listen! Comments[0] |
Sun, 10 February 2008 KevinMarshallOnline.com Exclusive - Though already out of the race, a paid political advertisement appeared in various markets as an attempt at damage control for former Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney's disastrous and embarrassing comments on Martin Luther King Day. KevinMarshallOnline.com has obtained this exclusive video and posted it as a supplement to our regular podcast. Comments[0] |
Fri, 8 February 2008 Living Under Marshall Law is BACK, BABY! Co-host Brian P. Dermody joins us to discuss the primaries, who we're both endorsing for President, Mittens Romney, racism during the Super Bowl, advice for THE LADIES (and the gentlemen!) starting at around the 50 minute mark that must be heard to be believed, and much more. Then, towards the end, we ruin it all by wrapping it up with some brief wrestling talk because us dorks gotta roll like that. But hey, that's not until the end, so this one's got something for everybody! Comments[0] |
Tue, 6 November 2007 (11/06/07) I'm back from New York, which means it's time for another edition of Living Under Marshall Law. Brian P. Dermody joins us as we discuss the Ring of Honor show we attended on Saturday. We also discuss Moolah's passing, DH Smith lasting a whopping two weeks with WWE before being suspended for Wellness violations, JBL's wife destroying the American economy, the greatness that is Bobby Dempsey, and much more. It's an hour and thirty minutes, but that's to be expected when we discuss a wrestling show that went over FOUR HOURS. Comments[0] |
Fri, 2 November 2007 (11/02/07) This Saturday features the first ever GHC Title defense on American soil. So of course, host Marshall and special guest co-host Brian P. Dermody are going to be there, but not before making a bunch of gay jokes and dorking out over the weekend's festivities. Join us as we wax poetic about The W, run down the full card of the show, reveal who we'd bring home if we were ringrats (the answers will shock and delight you), and discuss the alleged benefits of drinking Luke Cummo's pee. And be sure to check out KevinMarshallOnline.com, The-W.com, and bpd's blog on livejournal (bpdermody.livejournal.com). You know you want to. Comments[0] |
Wed, 31 October 2007 (10/31/07) It's All Hallow's Eve, and unfortunately we do NOT have a date at midnight with Nosferatu. :( Join Dreg and I as we discuss various aspects of the holiday...including favorite costumes, favorite (and least favorite) candy, stupid goths, etcetera. As a bonus we review the ECW Monster Mash Battle Royal (THE WORLD'S STRONGEST MAN! A MURDERER! A GIANT INDIAN! MAN TITTIES!) and engage in a heated, spirited debate over whether Undertaker is a Vampire or a Zombie. Dreg(ful) gets SO HEATED towards the end of the debate that he turns into a cyborg death machine. Listen for yourself if you don't believe me. Comments[0] |
Mon, 29 October 2007 It's over an hour and thirty minutes long, as Dreg and I catch up with The Ultimate Fighter. Mac loses his mind, Dorian loses his mind, Dan Barrera loses his mind, Dana White loses his mind...it's insanity! We also (briefly) touch upon Silva/Franklin, Christmas for Dicks, naming my first child, and much much more. It's long, but it's long fun. DOUBLE ENTENDRE! Bonjour. Comments[0] |
Wed, 17 October 2007 (10/17/07) After a brief (and completely unintentional) hiatus, Living Under Marshall Law is back! Marshall and Dreg discuss the rift between the two caused by Dreg's smear campaign in the forums, the last two weeks in wrestling, why we've all but stopped paying attention to RAW, Daivari & Booker T (& Sharmell of course) leaving WWE, a new theory on Bob Holly, and the upcoming Cyber Sunday pay-per-view which includes a couple ludicrous and confusing choices for the fan voting. Join us as we discover what happens when you decide "hey, let's finally do a podcast" at 1:00am. Comments[0] |
Fri, 5 October 2007 (10/05/07) It's an episode of LUML filled with whackiness and HATE. TUF 6: Joe Scarola (2007 Father of the Year) gets worse with his threats to leave while Marc Fiore makes his move on young Billy Miles. Then we discuss John Cena's injury and what that means for WWE (all bad), Kurt Angle's DUI, No Mercy this Sunday, cutting weight, Garrisson Keillor as the next Jim Ross, and more! It's over an hour and a half...we're not sure HOW it got that long, or why there's so much hate, but it's there so...yeah. Comments[0] |
Tue, 2 October 2007 (10/2/07) It's Monday, it's RAW, and it's October. That can only mean one thing - SUSPENSIONS ARE OVER! THE COMPANY'S SAVED! Well, not really. We review RAW from 10/1/07 and boy, was it bad. In an hour and eight minutes we discuss the happenings on RAW, why HHH would not be a good choice to play Thor in a movie, Umaga vs. The Children, the Seven Labors of the Diva Search, Kennedy's burial, Santino Marella almost single-handedly saving the show, Marshall's irrational hatred of gamer culture, and much more. It's another fun-filled episode of that show on that thing! Comments[0] |
Sun, 30 September 2007 (9/30/07) Marshall and Dreg are back to discuss Ring of Honor's second pay-per-view, "Driven." In the course of an hour we run down the event, talk about what worked and what didn't, and why I don't think that the Danielson/McGuinness match was necessarily the Match of the Year candidate that everyone's hyping it to be. We also discuss a waste of Marufuji, Big Daddy V's perplexing popularity on internet message boards, TNA once again failing despite yet another easy opportunity, and much more. This episode also sees the debut of a new segment - DREG'S RETRACTIONS! - and I do the Mike Knox Thing on the air. Sweet. Comments[0] |
